Have you ever wondered why? Why am I here? What is my purpose? Why did this happen to me? Why hasn’t it happened yet?
There’s so much in life we don’t understand and sometimes it just gets depressing. But no matter how “done” we feel, there’s hope.
I recently heard this song from Tauren Wells and it’s such an amazing reminder of God’s truth!
God isn’t done with you. No matter what you’ve done in the past. No matter your limitations. No matter your struggles and weaknesses. No matter how much you feel done.
Losing my grandma in February was the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. After she died, I felt like life wasn’t worth the living anymore. I don’t know if that’s a normal response to grief, but in these few months I’ve dealt with depression pretty badly.
They say time heals all wounds, but that hasn’t been true for me so far. It’s been super difficult.
That’s why this song brought me to tears.
It was a reminder that God’s not with me. I’m done with me. I’d rather be in heaven with my grandma than dealing with life on earth. But God has me here for a reason.
I’ll never understand why God chose to take my grandma when He did. I’ll never understand why it was her and not me.
But I just gotta trust that God has a reason.
For me, this song has really spoken in this season of grieving. But I think this message can speak to so many people for various reasons.
Maybe there’s something in your past that you wish you could erase. Maybe you feel defined by the mistakes you’ve made or beyond use by God. Maybe you have physical, mental, or emotional limitations that make you feel like you’re not good enough.
The good news is no matter your past, present, or future struggles and situations, God can absolutely use you!
You’re not too bad, too sick, too poor, too anything. You’re fearfully and wonderfully made by God and He has a purpose for you!
I think it’s incredible that the heroes we most admire in the Bible were some of the most flawed or “insignificant” people.
Moses had a speech impediment. David was a lowly shepherd and the youngest of eight brothers. Both committed murder. David committed adultery. Yet God used both of these men in incredible ways.
I’m sure there were times when they felt “done” with life. When David’s son died. When Pharaoh kept refusing to free the Israelites. When Saul consistently tried to kill David. When the Israelites did nothing but complain to Moses.
And yet, God brought them through it. His purpose was beyond anything the people said or did around them.
So if you feel like you’re done with life for whatever reason, I just want to encourage you that God is not done with you.
You have a purpose. He has a plan. We just have to trust Him and keep the faith day by day.
It’s not always easy. It doesn’t usually make sense right away. But in the long run, following God is so worth it.
I’m so excited to see the amazing things God is doing and will do through you!
Thanks for reading.
